Additional information

<20> This primarily theoretical paper provides a synthesis of empirical findings from earlier UH-based research in Human-Robot Proxemics (HRP), and proposes a new empirical framework to guide and evaluate future study in the area of HRP. This framework has subsequently been widely cited by other researchers in the field of Human-Robot Proxemics. Data from the article has also been used by other research groups, and has provoked formative conceptual discussion: for example Raymond H. Cuijpers and his collaborators at Eindhoven University of Technology have proxemics study results that contradict what is reported in this article (Torta et al. 2012).
