Additional information

<22> This work bridges a gap between Cognitive Robotics and Human Robot Interaction systems. It presents a novel interdisciplinary model of attachment, combining comparative developmental psychology (emotional development in chimpanzees and human infants) and robotics. This research was carried out as part of the EU-funded FP6 project FEELIX GROWING, and directly influenced the approach to attunement in ALIZ-E. An unusual feature is the combination of research and public dissemination, as the empirical study (experimental setup and data collection) was carried out in the context of a three-day long interactive exhibition of our robot at the London Science Museum.
