Additional information

Miles acted as general editor and contributed a 5,000-word sole-authored chapter of original pedagogical research, 'Assessing Online Discussion' (22-26). In addition, she wrote the 'Preface, Or, On the Virtual Couch with Ms E-Mentor' (4), 'Conclusion' (40), and 50% of 'Introduction: Virtually There: Online Discussion Activities in English Studies' (5-6). Miles oversaw the commissioning of the case studies, and associated editorial work was shared among the editors. The Guide contributes to the Unit's impact case study 'Integrating Virtual Learning Environments into the English Studies Curriculum', in which Miles also played a leading role, and brings together the perspectives of a range of UK-based English and Creative Writing academics.
