Additional information
This paper has generated a means to improve donor cell viability during their transplantation into Parkinson’s disease sufferers. During this study we developed and patented a new apparatus to allow for intact donor tissue transplants to be placed into the brain with reduced trauma to the transplant recipient (WO2009/125196). This work was an early key deliverable of BBSRC funding (BBSRC 260406; BB/E009433/1). MA Gates was a key developer of the technology and its use.
