Credit and the rural economy in North-western Europe, c. 1200-c.1850
Schofield co-convened the conference in Ghent (2003) from which these papers arose; he edited the volume and saw it through to press and publication. Schofield contributed a single-authored chapter of c.12,500 words and planned and wrote the bulk of the introduction, Schofield contributing approximately 80%, c.7,800 words, of the c.9,700 words for the latter. He honed individual chapters and ensured that the themes arising from individual submissions were fully represented in the volume, notably through an agenda-setting introduction. The introduction draws out key themes and facilitates the reader’s access to the very real significance of the contributions.
