Additional information

<20>Brain-computer interfaces (BCI) were until recently confined to restricted paradigms using standard computer screens. This paper shows a very flexible BCI where the targets of selection are user defined. The system in the paper also shows better than current state of the art results on a standard BCI spelling task. Since 2010, the results have already been included in two major summary articles on the field. These articles highlight the ways in which BCI research can be integrated in to practical interfaces, and our work is used as a practical example of a novel integration in everyday contexts.
