Additional information

<22> This paper [GoogleScholar:44] describes work developing a corpus of annotated medical records, to enable information extraction research within the MRC-funded Clinical E-Science Framework project (CLEF). The annotation scheme, developed with clinicians, is the semantically richest yet created for clinical text. The work led to an invitation to join the American Medical Information Association working group on clinical annotation and informed work on clinical IE at the University of Pittsburgh (Wendy Chapman <wwchapman@ucsd.edu>). The approach was used in the EU FP7 projects LarKC and Khreshmoi and by Merck in creating a pharmacovigilance corpus.
