Additional information

This work investigates cognitive spectrum management by joint energy and spectrum allocation to multiple femtocell networks which share spectrum with the underlaid macrocell. Our approach is the first to apply energy-aware radio resource allocation to future cognitive femtocell networks, (e.g., 3GPP’s LTE-A). This technology has strongly contributed to EU FP7 projects Quality of service and mobility driven cognitive radio systems (QoSMOS), and Advanced coexistence technologies for radio optimisation in licensed and unlicensed spectrum (ACROPOLIS).
