The paper represents research carried out in developing an innovative methodology to reduce power consumption in FPGA-based radar applications. The work was funded under a BAE Systems CASE award. A unified methodology for implementing transforms was developed for a radar application under development by Selex. Power consumption was identified as a key problem by the company and we were able to achieve a18% power saving with 100% speed improvement over their existing solutions.
