Additional information

Substrate Integrated Waveguide Cavities are used to fully characterise the millimetre wave properties of printed circuit boards to 100GHz. For the first time the effects of manufacturing process on substrate performance can been quantified using process monitors. The work, conducted through a special relationship with Taconic Advanced Dielectrics (V.P. Global sales) is used by Taconic to promote the material to thier customers. The work has further been extended to include a study of metal and dielectric surface roughness and its effect on complex loss.
