Additional information

This is the first presentation of an analogue retrodirective array able to track the very weak signal received from a satellite, whilst utilising the array factor on receive. This makes it highly suited for SATCOM ground terminals. The paper was awarded the “ESA young antenna engineer prize” 2010. The work has leveraged £165K of funding from EPSRC (EP/J013897/1) and one of six in the UK to be awarded a prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellowship (£85K, 2012-2013). New collaborations have been formed with companies such as Cobham Technologies (Senior Consultant).
