Additional information

<26> Patented, Modular radiance transfer was the first technique to achieve the holy-grail of real-time diffuse global illumination algorithm on mobile devices.

This leap was barely possible even on the most advanced workstation GPUs at the time and remains the acknowledged fastest method. ‘Likely to become one of the most the influential rendering papers ever' [Shirley’11], the associated runtime implementation was the first perfect set of review scores for a SIGGRAPH talk. It was applied in Split Second video game, which made approximately $20m in sales and also an iTunes app, RadStorm, which has been downloaded over 50k times.
