<22>This paper presents the overall results of the EU funded Companions project. The Napier team contributed significantly to the whole interaction design, software architecture and interaction strategies that make an original contribution to dealing with multimodal input to conversational agents. The novel and rigourous approach to evaluating the user experience of interacting with conversational companions is summarised.
