Additional information

The work reported in this paper was sponsored by the EPSRC. The leading author was invited to speak at the 6th M.I.T. Conference in 2011. This has led to a collaborative research project with Dr Sasan Armand at NASA (Langley Research Centre) in the area of inflatable decelerators on inter-planetary vehicles. The collaborators will have the first results showing errors in patterning of inflatable decelerators by the end-2013 and will then apply to NASA for funding. Work from this paper has also contributed to patent application GB1311581.1 – “Biomedical Scaffold”.
