In order adequately to analyse and contextualise the three films and scores in Reyland's book Zbigniew Preisner's 'Three Colors' Trilogy: Blue, White, Red: A Film Score Guide (482 pages) and also to tackle a much larger network of interacting theoretical and critical issues, Scarecrow invited him to write a volume twice the length of the books in the series that deal with just one film. The book proposes an extensive thesis founded on both screen music scholarship and film theory.
