Surface-Immobilized Peptide Aptamers as Probe Molecules for Protein Detection
CPW-2: This paper reports the oriented integration of robust antibody-mimetic engineered proteins into electronic devices, demonstrating that their biological activity, specificity, and selectivity against target biomarkers is maintained. With CPW-1, this underpins development of label-free clinical diagnostic technology, and contributed to the £11M Wellcome/EPSRC programme ('WELMEC' WT088908/Z/09/Z, PI:Fisher) and the ‘Regenerative Therapies and Devices’ IKC (EP/G032483, PI:Fisher, £4,886,149). It also led to a £497k STFC award (TP/05/07), two BBSRC CASE awards (with Abbott and Hitachi), funded collaborations with P&G (£35k) and Abbott (£80k), and supported our EPSRC CDT in molecular-scale engineering (EP/J500124, PI:Davies, £1,999,639; 30 PhD studentships with Sheffield).
