Application of a renormalization-group treatment to the statistical associating fluid theory for potentials of variable range (SAFT-VR)
Accurate and versatile tools describing global thermodynamic behaviour of fluids are essential for the chemical industry. Here we couple the SAFT-VR equations of state with a renormalisation-group (RG) treatment to improve the predictions from classical theory close to critical points. A key feature is a reduced number of additional adjustable parameters compared to other approaches and the final SAFT-VR+RG approach is shown to describe successfully the global thermodynamic behaviour of fluids using the same number of parameters as the original SAFT-VR.
