Additional information

This study, partly funded by the Royal Society, was the first to consider the application of metal foams as thermal regenerators. These are vital components for many types of heat engine, e.g. Stirling Engines. The paper was an Invited Feature Paper for a Focus issue of the journal on Bulk Porous Materials, and the work was presented at MetFoam 2013 and Euromat 2013.
