Additional information

This work addresses novel techniques to rapidly assess the fat content of liver tissue for organ transplant assessment, to inform surgeons' decisions on the best use of donor organs. The technology has been taken forward in prototype systems, approved by the Medicines and Healthcare Devices Regulatory Agency (MHRA), and is currently undergoing clinical trials at Addenbrookes Hospital (Mr Chris Watson, Department of Surgery, <ID_in_audit_file@cam.ac.uk>). The sensing technology has been implemented in a compact portable instrument using low cost, disposable sterile components.
