Additional information

This research investigated under-slab installation techniques for CFRP strap systems and the trade-offs between the level of strength capacity enhancement and ease of installation. The work informed aspects of a successful EPSRC proposal GR/S55101/01, which incorporated the developed techniques. Dr Hoult, who was the PhD student who worked on the project, is now an Assistant Professor at Queen's University, Canada. Dr Lees was invited to act as a member of the steering committee for Dr Hoult's Strategic Grant on Protecting Canada's Bridges funded by NSERC Canada.
