Additional information

In this paper, our existing contact finite element modelling methodology has been developed so that the influence of fretting wear on both crack initiation and propagation in fretting fatigue can be quantified. This is the first time that time-marching FEM has been used in this context and previous qualitative explanations have been replaced by a quantitative methodology.
