Incorporating a heat balance in electrochemical cell models is complicated by the highly nonlinear dependence on temperature. This paper has been requested numerous times by international researchers concerned with flow batteries and more generally with electrochemical cells. It has been cited many times by leading groups in flow batteries including Maria Kazacos at UNSW, Aus., and in recent reviews on flow batteries, e.g., DOI 10.1007/s10800-011-0348-2.
