The editors worked quite closely together on all aspects of the book. Savulescu was more responsible for the overall architecture of the book and for the selection of contributors. Savulescu devoted special effort to working with the Japanese authors to editing and developing their contributions. Bostrom was more responsible for writing the introductory chapter. Both editors also contributed their own separate research chapters within the book, and gave authors feedback on preliminary drafts of their texts.
