Additional information

This work in a book on the work of leading UK architects Allies + Morrison, places their design process and key buildings into a critical European context. It is based on interviews with Allies and Morrison regarding their design intentions – Morrison’s relationship to Finnish modernism, and Allies’s studies of Italian Renaissance and modern design. It draws together their intellectual sources, providing their oeuvre with a proper structure. This is the first attempt to organise the work of this leading practice in this way and sets the scene for the projects that are then illustrated.
