Additional information

<20> We experimentally demonstrated the potential of haptic and auditory trajectory playback as a mechanism for teaching shapes and gestures to visually impaired (VI) people. Published in one of the top two accessible computing journals, it demonstrates techniques that can be used to teach spatial information or tacit knowledge non-visually; a difficult and heavily researched area. These generally applicable techniques are used as the basis for our award paper in CHI paper (the top HCI conference) and to provide automated training in our Innovation Award winning Haptic Cow used in the curriculum of 4 of the 7 UK veterinary schools.
