Double-weighted statement

This book weaves together two very large literatures in philosophy of language and in ethics that have never before been considered together. It makes substantial and original arguments in both. Work for the book began on an AHRC grant in Autumn 2007, and it was not completed until 2012 due to the complexity of the issues considered. A workshop is being held on it in Canada and three full weeks are being spent on it in Philosophy of Language class at Yale. Neither of these would plausibly happen with a mere article’s worth of material.
