Additional information

For modern optical polishing, the application of CNC machine has many advantages over classical polishing. The shortcoming of this technology is that it has very low efficiency in removing mid-spatial features generated by preceding grinding process. The ‘grolishing’ technology, introduced in this paper adopt rigid tool to treat these mid-spatial features. The implementing of this technology within the same machine as polishing has eliminated the need to move large optics between different machines. This has the benefit of reducing the process cycle time and the risk of damage during transport
