Holographic digital microscopy in on-line process control
Conventional production monitoring methods often require sample preparation, are unable to provide information about the real physical state of such dynamic processes, or suffer from loss of precision in measurements. Published in a special edition of Optical Engineering dedicated to cutting-edge holography ̽, this work, investigates the feasibility of real-time, non-invasive, high resolution, precise quantitative three-dimensional mapping of microscopic objects while being produced in specialised production vessels. The study is particularly relevant to on-line process monitoring and control in chemical, food, and cleaning industries.
