Additional information

The contributions by the authors were organized principally by chapter. Chapters 1 and 6, the introduction and conclusion of the book, were jointly written.

Stephen Baker was principal author of Chapters 3 and 5, drawing from his grounding in media and cultural theory while Greg McLaughlin was principal author of Chapters 2 and 4, with his analysis informed by his background in media sociology. The writing and drafting process throughout was also subject to mutual review by one author of the other’s work.
