Easy Composition of Symbolic Computation Software using SCSCP : A New Lingua Franca for Symbolic Computation
<12>This expanded version of a conference paper reports a main outcome of the EU SCIEnce project – a protocol and libraries providing a step change in the ease of writing applications that combine multiple pieces of mathematical software, applicable in contexts from parallel programming to Web, Grid and Cloud services. A wide range of examples show the ease of both providing and consuming a variety of services in a range of software systems. No previous solution has been nearly as flexible or general, being typically limited to one system as client or server and specific application domains.
