Additional information

The Bees Algorithm is a novel, versatile and effective nature-inspired tool created by the authors and their team for difficult optimisation tasks. A new version was developed and applied to dynamic optimisation problems in chemical engineering. A statistical factorial experiment was used to tune the settings of the population parameters. Tested on eight benchmark problems, the tuned algorithm outperformed the standard Bees Algorithm and other well-known state-of-the-art optimisation methods. The results demonstrate the efficacy of the enhanced Bees Algorithm and the effectiveness of the statistical parameter tuning method devised and used for the first time in this work.
