Additional information

This paper reports progress in the world-first research on the combustion performance of 2,5-dimethylfuran in engines. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) commented: “Their published findings are very informative for engine design providing answers related to the new bio-fuel and valuable knowledge on the development of combustion systems for modern gasoline direct injection engines” (JLR letter). The research was conducted in collaboration with Tsinghua University and Xi’an Jiaotong University (China). For this work (reported by Green Car Congress), the author was invited by the ENI Committee as candidate for the ENI Award (“Nobel prize of energy research”) endorsed by JLR and Shell.
