User-centric music retrieval system matched hummed music queries to melodies in database. Developed large humming database (available at sail.usc.edu) to propose data-driven fingerprinting technique accounting for difficulty of singing different musical intervals. Output of highly competitive NSF Information Technology Research grant. Work led to chord based retrieval system, music royalty rights management proposal, and award of a TUBITAK (Science and Technology Research Council of Turkey) National Young Researchers Career Development Award.
