Additional information

The first work that proposes detecting salient image points incrementally, something that can have large significance for systems operating under computational, energy and time constraints. It supported Andreopoulos' EPSRC-grant (EP/F020015/1, "Operational Refinement of Computation for Multimedia Coding Systems", £233,389 2009-2012) and led to a £10K industrial grant from STMicroelectronics (PI: Andreopoulos, Co-I: Patras), (contact: Dr. Fabrizio Rovati, Multimedia Roadmap Manager, AST Lab, fabrizio.rovati@st.com). Based on this work, Andreopoulos carried out consultancies at Tate Museum London (contact: Dr. Pip Laurenson, Head of Time-based Media Conservation) and The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (contact: Pam Fisher, R&D Project Manager).
