Additional information

Paper introduced 'predictive information rate', a new type of sequence predictability measure, giving insight into the way that musical complexity is related to psychological preference and interestingness. Led to keynote talks at two international conferences (ICA 2009 Brazil, http://bit.ly/16DWKkh; SPARS'09 France, http://spars09.inria.fr/). Resulting technology used in pilot conductor recognition project for blind singer, augmented piano performance (Sarah Nicolls, 2008, http://bit.ly/1g6ACSL) and demonstrated at British Science Festival (2011, http://bit.ly/oLTljt). Work was key technology used in securing EPSRC grant IDyOM-2 (EP/H013059/1, £1.0M, reviewer comments:'highly novel', 'exciting', 'cutting edge', 'highly interdisciplinary').
