Theology of Transformation : Faith, Freedom and the Christian Act
The book (305 pages) represents focused research over a period of at least seven years. It argues for a fundamental re-orientation of theology on the grounds of contemporary neuroscience of social cognition and language, with implications for the re-reception of a key historical doctrine, rendered redundant by Newtonian science. It has extensive historical sections therefore but also argues for this re-orientation across several fields of contemporary theology, including philosophical and political theology, anthropology, biblical hermeneutics, Christology and Fundamental Theology. Its argument for the integration of systematic and practical theology requires new argumentation regarding each, addressing the concerns of both camps.
