Additional information

<23>First attempt to combine photometric irradiance constraints with statistical morphable model, bringing together two previously divergent strands of research. Method is applied to problem of illumination insensitive face recognition and we compare recognition performance to 9 previously published results, including the current state of the art. Early version of work appeared in CVPR 2009 (acceptance rate 26%) and has proven influential with groups at Southampton, Imperial and Bath. This work was supported by an EPSRC first grant (EP/F036949/1).
