Additional information

This paper presents a detailed understanding of chemical durability of a contaminated land remediation approach. This work provides a detailed understanding of the mechanisms (primarily chemical) involved in the long term stability of stabilised materials. It establishes the longer term durability of cement stabilisation/solidification approaches, both ways to assess and changes that are likely to occur, something serving lacking in the literature. This work not only provides a useful assessment of potential design approaches that consider longer term performance but also how durable treatments are over the design life of the remediation process.
