Additional information

This work demonstrated for the first time how the same plasticity mechanism, but different neural codes, leads to the different connectivity observed in different brain areas. It has become a reference point for virtually all synaptic computational neuroscience publications since (reviewed by Feldman, Neuron 2012). The key prediction was experimentally confirmed in Ko et al. 2011 Nature. It was the basis of a collaboration with the Mrisc group (Switzerland), and gave rise to the paper Ko et al. 2013 Nature. Based on this work, Claudia Clopath was invited for talks at six international conferences (e.g. Cosyne, Salt Lake City, 2011).
