Additional information

This paper arose from a large SDO funded study that focused on the role of the GP with a special interest in respiratory medicine. Harris's role in the project was to provide support and training to the junior researcher, conduct interviews in one of the case study sites, streamline data collection and management processes and initiate the coding frame and first wave of analysis. Harris was involved in further analysis for this paper and was responsible for suggesting the links to theories of social capital. Harris's key contribution to the writing of this paper is reflected by her position as second author.
