<08>A description of contributions to the SICSA Multicore Challenge (http://www.macs.hw.ac.uk/sicsawiki/index.php/MultiCoreChallenge). Describes experiments using two languages on two different architectures and compares the performance these reference C implementations on the same platforms. Our comparisons with the performances obtained by other teams using different languages for the same problem demonstrates that our approach outperforms all others tested including systems from leading commercial companies. This provides significant evidence for the viability of the array language approach and also about the strength of the Intel processor architecture compared to the IBM architecture.
