Additional information

<20> This paper is the first in a series to be published from an EPSRC First Grant. The paper uniquely addresses the potential of music-games to contribute to academic, social and personal development, extending qualitative self-identity research and utilisation of the flow concept to the music-game domain. Findings highlight the educational potential of music-games to engage and inspire learners with music, and the related utility of the flow concept. This work has led to a body of consultancy, research collaboration and public engagement e.g., MusicGame Technologies, Apple, NewConcept Gaming, BBC, Playlist for Life, Musical Minds, and Alzheimers Scotland.
