Additional information

<20> This paper extended previous work by uniquely investigating the parameters of music which impact video game performance and experience, drawing on the circumplex model of emotion and theories of retrospective time perception. The main findings highlight the importance of user's goal oriented appropriation of the context in which interactive technology is used, for optimal performance and experience. The inherent synergy between user-centred-design, social psychology and games studies led to a current body of work now funded by an EPSRC First Grant, and consultancy project with Industry partners including CBeebies, RjDj and New Concept Gaming.
