Additional information

Interest in non-destructive techniques for measuring bore profiles of ducts, such as those found in industrial heat exchangers and musical wind instruments has increased significantly in recent years. This paper is the first to demonstrate a multi microphone time domain technique and was shown to accurately reconstruct the bore profile of a test object. This new technique avoids singularities which arise from two microphone techniques. It has been referred to in Vazquez Ceron's work on human upper airway reconstruction (Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana, Mexico City), DoI:10.1109/IEMBS.2011.6090700; and by Jean-Pierre Dalmont (Laboratoire d'Acoustique de l'Université du Maine) DoI:10.1121/1.3651793.
