Additional information

This work, funded by the EPSRC Innovative Electronics Manufacturing Centre (IeMRC), has developed a novel process for forming inter-digitated electrode structures for electroluminescent light sources via soft lithography (micro-contact printing). The method enables the track-and-gap spacing of the electrodes to be substantially reduced, yielding a higher electric field (and light output) for a given applied voltage. Back-lighting structures for LCD display panels that operate with reduced supply voltages can now potentially be manufactured.
