Additional information

This paper demonstrated a small footprint preparative scale counter-current instrument has capability to operate with a throughput of up to 1 kg/day in a continuous mode in a large scale applications laboratory without needing expensive explosion proof hazard lab facilities. This was one of the key outputs of the TSB High value manufacturing research programme on “Scalable Technology for the Extraction of Pharmaceuticals” Grant No. TP14/HVM/6/I/BD506K. It demonstrated for the first time the importance of flying lead length and will be a key paper as continuous processing in CCC grows.
