Additional information

The corresponding author made a substantial contribution to the design of the experiment, where a systematic study of the Hall transport as a function of film thickness was used to deconvolute the roles of defect scattering and thermal processes in CrO2. This process revealed the underlying universal scaling exponent of the intrinsic anomalous Hall conductivity with the electrical conductivity, and also the role of magnetic excitations. The author collected all the experimental data and designed and carried out the analysis method used to interpret the data. The author wrote the majority (75%) of the manuscript.
