Additional information

One of the most important challenges in OFDMA is the design of a judicious packet scheduler to make efficient use of the spectrum. Due to the multicarrier nature of OFDMA systems, the applicability and performance of traditional wireless packet scheduling algorithms, which are usually designed for single carrier systems, are largely unknown. This paper proposes a new quality-of-service-aware proportional fairness (QPF) packet scheduling policy with low complexity for the downlink OFDMA. The work, in collaboration with Colorado State University, USA (Contact: ricky.kwok@colostate.edu), contributed to the first author obtaining a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Wayne State University, USA, in 2009.
