Information Fusion for Unconstrained Iris Recognition
This work demonstrates the benefits of fusing information from both irises rather than one in iris recognition, especially in realistic conditions where colour images are captured. The proposed solution has greater impact in developing application areas (as underlying technology improves), such as biometric security on mobile phones and tablets where traditional infrared iris capture is not possible due to hardware limitations. An invitation to present the results to meeting 55 of the UK Government's Biometrics Working Group followed on 16/06/2011. This output resulted from the international ERDF Interreg IVA NOmad Biometric Authentication project (ref. 4051).
