Additional information

This paper is recognised for pioneering a new way of optimizing the structures of complex manufacturing supply networks and for solving, for the first time, the problem of how to optimise a complex adaptive supply chain evolving with market whilst maintaining a relatively stable structure [Prof Ou Tang, Linkoping University, ou.tang@liu.se]. The research has strongly influenced other groups (e.g., Li, lee_rich@163.com, Xian Jiaotong University, China, IJPE 124:310-330 on simulating the evolution of a multi-billion Low-Voltage-Device supply network, Wenzhou, China), and has formed the basis of a £3m EU programme (meCagro2) implementing the methodology in industry (e.g. Yeo Valley, Andy.Rimell@yeovalley.co.uk).
